Skills

As an editor and NYU film student, I've worked with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Avid, and Maya while also studying the fundamentals of marketing, animation, and filmmaking.

I've bounced on and off set through a range of roles and responsibilities. Since graduating in 2008, I've been editing full time in Los Angeles—cutting feature films, TV series, music videos, commercials, and more. Beyond film, my academic emphasis was religious studies, which included a semester abroad in Dharamsala, India, as well as a month touring temples in Japan.

This listing is a sample of my work, as freelance editing can be a bit too scattered to easily list individually.

Work Experience

AwesomenessTV / Awestruck
Editor
Summer '16-[Current]

At AwesomenessTV's sister channel, I cut a variety of programs for millennial moms, serving as lead editor for multiple documentary series.

Editor
Spring '16

As Collective Digital Studio made the transition to Studio 71, I worked on two of the feature films at both their Burbank studio as well as the lofts of Geisler Graphics, Inc.

EyeSeeTV / Imagecraft Productions
Editor
Fall '10-Fall '11, Summer '12-Winter '15

As lead video editor for the travel blog Jetset Extra (operating out of the production rental shop Imagecraft Productions), I've cut over one hundred editorial shorts and helped build and maintain their website. Additionally, I've assisted in their social media & marketing campaigns as well as camera work & media management around the shop or on set for Imagecraft Productions.

Los Angeles Derby Dolls
Data Management /
Editor
Intermittent, 2011-2014

Over the years, I've helped in the 5-camera live productions of roller derby bouts as a camera operator, DIT, chyron, replay, and/or video editor.

Schmo-Gun Productions
Post Producer /
Editor
Spring '12

Working with Tom Caltabiano and Ray Romano on their comedy documentary 95 Miles to Go took me through a wide range of promotional opportunities: from photo shoots to podcast recordings to lengthy editing sessions for the wealth of extras we packed into the final DVD.

Candor Entertainment
Assistant Editor / Post Coordinator
Fall and
Winter '11

Juggling the responsibilities of a post coordinator for two reality series, a feature documentary, and a bevy of development pitches left little time for the usual logging and assembling of new batches of footage, but such were the demands of my first full-time television job.

Fifth Column (now The Chapter Media)
Editor
Spring '09-Spring '10

In my first production job, I served as everything from a coffee-boy to assistant director. I crafted storyboards, animatics, final edits, robust corporate systems & procedures guidelines, and client microsites. I met with clients large and small—from the president of Geneva Watches to struggling actors—and I've taught interns, photographers, and coworkers more than anyone should know about video codecs.

Helen Whitney Productions
Production Intern for PBS documentary
Spring '09

Hustled on-set as a grip, and back in the office, I researched filming locations, logged new and archival footage, scheduled photographers, and burned assemblies for studio review.

NYU Animation Lab
Animation TA
4 Semesters: Fall '06, Fall '07, Spring '08, Fall '08

Managed equipment check-outs and reservations, distributed class allotments, and helped the faculty and staff with classes and general animation floor maintenance for the better part of my college career.

Character Technical Director and Animator
Summer and Fall '08

Collaborating online with a small team of artists on a sword-fighting video game based on Valve’s Source game engine, I provided character animations and rigs as well as participated in playtesting and design brainstorming. (At the time, the project began under Ninja Workshop, with the name "Berimbau.")

NSULA Advance Program
Film Studies TA
Summer '07

For one energetic summer, I supervised gifted junior and senior high school students during a summer program's film studies course, with responsibilities ranging from collaborating with the teacher on lesson plans to leading weekend and evening activities such as improv comedy to producing the class's final narrative short.

Percy, Smith, & Foote, LLP.

My introduction to office life was with a team of coders in filing and organizing court case files into an online database under the employment of Louisiana's former district judge.
